Besides beer labels & the basic boating must have's such as Iron Fist, The Legend of Mercury, Johnson Evinrude and the Legend of OMC.
I try to keep a good book nearby but to keep my interest, it has to be nonfiction and the story of someones life or on a certain subject throughout. My wife is into science fiction and can read stuff like Lord of the Rings, but I can't get my head around it enough to keep up.
My main reads though have been about the Vietnam conflict. Currently just finishing up Killing Zone by Fred Downs. Pretty good book about the infantry platoon leaders tour. Not the best because I'd like to read more about what else happened between missions etc. but still one that can't be put down.
Besides that here are a few that come to mind & I keep in my office in case someone shows some interest:
Low Level Hell
Above the Tree Tops
Six Silent Men (about four books from various authors that served together)
Chicken Hawk
Blackjack 33 & 34
Warrior Soul (deals mainly with the Beirut conflict)
On Point
Phantom Warriors
Diary of an Airborne Ranger
Punks War
Snake Driver
Acceptable Loss
Flying Through Midnight
Chuch Yeagers autobiography
These are just to name a few. Hopes are to start expanding a little and read Colin Powels Leadership Secrets.
