View Full Version : Hst Woes
I run an 89 HST Skier ('I'm not sure what a "skier" is but it's on my coast guard tag)
Has anyone installed bilge pumps on this hull? If so, how do you properly go about it? I can't reach the outside hulls and I'm to big to "squeeze" down the sides. The access hatch at the rear doesn't lend itself to much either. Am I pretty much relegated to pulling this out on my trailer every weekend like I have for the past 9 years! Hope not

Hey Boz! Iknow your dilema. I ahve never personally seen a bilge in a hst but some must have one. I am probably going to put one in but I have to rip out my gas tank anyways so it won't be as hard to get in there, either that or I will make my brother do it. anyways good luck, I know how much of a pain it is to have to pull your boat out every weekend.

When your brothers done w/ yours, make him come and do mine :D How are you getting your tank out? That's the best way to do it. I have been doing the trailer thing for 9 years now and it's a real pain! Looking at a used Cantilever (sp) lift. What a luxury that would be! Keep me posted:cool:

hey boz, my gas tank right now isn't mounted so it should be easy to get out, Balzy has probably seen an hst with a bilge, his might even have one I don't know, hopefully he will see your post.

It's under my tank. No big deal to pull the tank. Take off the sundeck cover first and then bend your way in there. Been there, done that many times. I have my fuel pump, jackplate pump, and battery all back there behind the tank. I never get water in the side sponsons unless it sits in the rain (which it never does without a cover. You have to get quite a bit of water in the middle for it to run up to the front and back around to the sides. If you are getting water in the sides you need to seal between the deck and the hull. I used windshield saealant and it worked great. Pull the rubrail and shoot it betwen the deck and the hull and put the rubrail back on. Steve A has access covers on his deck in his side sponsons on his. If you don't mind cutting up your deck you can put the same covers on that you have on the top of the deck in the rear middle now.
Pic of Steve's covers.
