Has anyone ever installed cockpit drains in a 24 that go directly overrboard instead of into the bilge. Or is the waterline too high to drain. I'm not near my boat to check.
no but it sounds like a good idea.....id say the floor is probably at waterline if i had to guesstimate. I try not to hose down my cockpit too much....just dont like the idea of the water sittin back there in the bilge

I probably wouldnt do it, you would either have to run a pretty decent length pipe from the back of the cockpit to the transom and then out the transom, and that would definitly be underwater (look at the drains in the splashwell next time you gas up), and if you went through the side, you would need to go through the liner, then the outer shell, neither of which is cored, just dont like the idea of a drain set up that way, guess anything is possible though
