A good recore will last at least 25 years, even longer.

I would say in a perfect world yes , but the world is far from perfect,I removed about 70 % of the core in my Viper and instead of glueing core back in I glassed in a couple of layers of a woven rovin that has a multi directional cloth on top of it , the reason I did that was my thoughts were you have a layer of metalflake ,then a layer or 2 of cloth, then you have the core,I wanted a thicker stronger bottom layer, I have seem many broken in 2 Hydrostreams so thats what I did,My boat is seriously strong + I did add 2 stringers from the transom to about 2 feet from the steering wheel. All the fiberglass work was done in West System, the way I see it , you do it in west once, and it does not break. and no core to replace again .
