Had a ball last night down at the waterfront/marina fireworks show. Besides the kids here ..(8 to 80)..stuff bought down the road Indian fireworks,,(good stuff!), we also do a massive works show.
We had two pickups loaded, works, but at the start, I was at the launch dock, doing security, (NO boat launching during the "works"..flaming boats suk!).
So the volunteer fire fighters here, who get the "goods", and do the major part of the show..(we all contribute money for the works).. lay down at low tide a string of 16,000 inch and a half'ers, on the beach. The start of the real stuff gong down, to follow. Sucker was lite, had to be 150 foot long! And 20 minutes later, STILL GOING OFF! Dude told me its from Mexico, somehow a wedding tradition. (Wonder what the divorce party is?):D
My az is tired from last nite, dog finally gets to go pee outside today, with out a "BOOM", in the ear, and back under the bed..(also screw any vet meds, pets, 4th. I know one well.. said a simple Benadry Allergy"..same thing..works fine..one tab, pet gets woozy and crash's).
Oh yeah! Took my Olin boat Flare gun down, and shot off 3 expired rounds. HA!. THEY WERE FROM A OLD DUDE ACROSS THE ROAD, AND 15 YEARS OLD?:rolleyes::confused:
2 YEAR expire, then the CG says toss, buy new at 3 for $45. HA! WORKED FINE!
Oh well, looked good going up, and I was NOT in a boat, in trouble!:p;):D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Man they had one of those 16000 rolls cost like 80 or 100 bucks lit in five spots probally close to a hundred feet long 5 minutes 45 seconds. Bad part they lit it, i didn't know, sounded like a frickin war zone in my front yard. Thought for sure was gonna have problems wit the fuzz. but all was well and gotta love those artillary shells there awesome.

We had a stand up the road that had mortars the big stuff. I trimmed the trees and the pool was full of spent rockets. The smoke was so thick you couldn't see a foot in front of you. Funny thing was it was all 50 and over shooting them off. Rick
I like the hot wrench bombs

I usually make it a point to light one(16k roll) off every year in front of my b/tch neighbors house around 10pm. On New Years and 7/4 .
Aside from the enjoyment of knowing it pisses her off, It leaves a killer mess in her yard.
Between that and the 1/4 sticks- its no wonder she hated me ??

when i was a kid my family sold fireworks for a couple weeks each year to make vacation money and dad was a fireman. so, i had the fire bug way too early in life. all my g.i. joes got blown up with blackcats.
by the time i made it to high school ,i had decided to make my own fireworks......let you guess how that worked out!
blown up trees, blown up mail boxes, and 2 blown to heck cars that did not belong to me. 6lbs of powder in a lincoln continental DOES NOT MIX WELL... after the cars, my buddies and myself needed a bigger boom ,so we decided to hit a natural gas substation . thank the good LORD i went to jail before it got done.......

HA!...I'm 60, and remember as a kid "Lady Fingers" were cool..(toss at Raccoons now..GET LOST!)..step up from "Cracker Balls", tossed the ground, (we do winter "Pellet gun" shoots here Tuesday nites, dudes 30x90 shop, and tape the ground throwers to a target!..BOOM,?..ya win !"
And we buy stuff, 4th, "bottom shelf", off the Indians. And as said.."gotta love those artillery shells there awesome"..HA! BIG FAN of a good finally end of show, the big bangs! The 4th is just a start. We have a big "Lake Fair" party in town, the week after the 4th, over Capital Lake in Olympia, end of the 4 day fun, GOOD hour of works, MASSIVE!, and will be at a friends 36 footer, in the too damn close marina, and the weather finally got WARM, PNW. 80's/90's coming, in da boat, SPF and beer!:p:cool:;):D:thumbsup:

Yep, don't get mad, GET EVEN. :D:thumbsup: People across the street,, few houses down, parents died off, and place for sale..(rest my neighbors are cool)..but the kids them, come out here holidays, the offspring young and stupid, think its cool to do 3 days blowing off works in the street. We all say.."DO IT AT THE WATERFRONT PARK!" WHY? MY DOG HATES FIREWORKS, and me too, as a Nam Vet, when a big bang in the ear, least expected.
But I know how to get even. Got home from a party here at 2am. KNOWING THEY ARE crashed out, and too pack up, leave at noon Monday. The private HOA is now silent. Neighbors know what to expect me. Sure as hell, I shot off a good 500 Skyrockets, RIGHT OVER THERE HOUSE...SINGLES, 10 AT A TIME..who cares...there gone now. And me still here, STILL loaded with more!

HA!. Story here. Long ago, was a Machinist at Reynolds Aluminum. We used to do a good bomb, a PINT milk carton, and then a shot off the Red and Green torch, touch OXY, touch ACET. Stuff a paper towel in the nose, light it, and beat feet! Close to an M-80!
So one night, working the 3-11 shift, a dude does a GALLON MILK JUG! Sets it by the press brake, and lights it. NOW, a dude, little John, a welder, was in the john, 15 feet away, and just came back to work from open heart surgery! He said he walked out the john, and BOOM..! He lived, but bet we cleaned his "pipes", better than any doc can!:p:thumbsup:
