How many oz. of oil should a person run per gallon of gas for a 2.4 merc? :D anyone?

Some like 50:1 IMO I like 40:1 or 3 1/2 oz of 2 cycle oil to a gallon of super unleaded motor gasoline..

128/desired mix ratio = ounces per gal

Performance outboard = 128/40 = 3.2 ounces per gal.

2.6 is 50:1 and most of us just run 3.0 ounces per gal and call it good, (43:1). On a drag motor with short hard hard bursts of accelleration you probably want to be closer to 35:1.

Jay Smith, Eagle One, Chris Carson etc, can give you those numbers more accurately if you need.

Thanks Jay Its a new motor ive been running 4 oz to a gal ...she sure smokes a lot . Ill try the 3.5 to 1 gal. if ya dont mind I would like to ask you a ? okay i built this lil 2.4 got 200 carbs,5 pedal horzonal frt , balanced the rods,pistons, 132 psi compression shes running good, im running it on the XB with a 2.1 lower and a 25p Trophy maybe im wrong but i only could get 5800 rpm's out of the motor today @ 67 mph with The dog ,the wife, ice chest and me, probally say 600 lbs of dead weight anchor and all does this sound right?
