Worst Trip EVER

The phone rang Wednesday morning 7am with my boss telling me I need to go to Wichita Kansas… half hour later he calls and says no now we need you to go to Greensboro NC….. NOW. Big emergency… I got a 305pm flight out through Philly. Because of a Furniture convention in Greensboro no Hotels were available for 50miles around SO I need to drive up to RaulyDuram just to sleep. The storms on the east coast Wednesday screwed up allot of flights, mine included so I was rerouted to Pittsburgh at 620pm into NC for 9pm. The plan is to go to the job site and work on the problem Wednesday night. Anyone that has been thought Pittsburgh airport knows they never fly on time and like clockwork my flight was really late getting me in at 1130pm. Next my bags which contained my tools and books is a no show… They were not routed with me…With no tools and no more energy I decide not to go to the job site but to get to my hotel and get some rest… I go to get the rental car and they start to tell me they are out of cars… that would not fly because I am an Emerald member and Demand a Car… They Finally find me a car now its 1230am. I start to drive up to Rauly NC and find major road work and stop and go traffic in the middle of the night… Finally make it to the hotel at 215am but they have sold my room thinking I was a no show….After stirring up all kinds of hell they Give me a smoking room next to the highway… Because I have no bags, no nothing with me, I decided to go to the 24hour Krogers grocery store to buy a tooth brush, while in the store I hear yelling, I run up to the front of the store to find out what’s going on and I see the place is being Robbed! The armed security guard emerges about the same time I do and scares the Kid off……. Oh man NOW I want to head to my hotel room and HIDE!.. its now 3am. The next morning 830am I arrive at the jobsite and start working on what I could with out much for tools. My bag finally arrives at noon… Somebody from US airways decided to help his or herself to my stuff…. They stole my tools, my cloths and ripped up my service manuals. They did leave me a pair of socks and my favorite sweatshirt, everything else Gone…. A claim is being processed by USAirways. I go to take the empty bag to my Rental car and the door will not unlock.. New Status don’t have a passenger side lock so the drivers side lock is the only way in… I had to get National rental to come out and fix the car on the spot…The flight home was uneventful thankfully… This is seriously the worst trip I have ever had and I have been doing this for 12 years… To top that all off I get to fly back to NC Monday… Wish me luck.:rolleyes:

but that takes the cake !!!!!

As for Useless Airways !!!!! Been there done that !!!! :(

And my trip from hell did end up in Pittsburg also .Pretty cool
town though !!! They put me up in the Holiday Inn which had
an Awesome Pool Hall nextdoor !!!! :cool:

Played pool till 1 in the a.m but had to catch the shuttle at 6 a.m
only to get to the airport and find my flight cancelled :rolleyes:

Didn't get a flight out until noon that day ........ :(

HAD ONE OF THOSE TRIPS MYSELF BUT IT WAS IN PHILLY
IT STARTED OUT I HAD TOFLY FROM SYRACUSE TO BOSTON TA GET A FLIGHT TO PHILLY.
AS WE WERE LANDING LIKE SIDEWAYS THE PILOT THROTTLED BACK UP & CALLED OUT ON THE PA WE HAD TO ABORT LANDING THERE WAS A PLANE ON THE WRONG RUN WAY
I WAS WHITE AS A GHOST SO WE CIRCLED AND LANDED.
THAT WAS THE START PHILLY WAS COOL BUT IT ALL SARTED OVER WHEN WE WERE LEAVIN PHILLY WE WERE STRANDD AT THE AIRPOPT FOR 7 HOURS WAITING FOR THE ICE TA MELT & THERE WAS 12 OF US ON THIS BUISNESS TRIP. AND NO RENTAL VANS AVAILABLE.

I hate traveling and you just reminded me why. I can say that I haven't even come close to your experience though so I guess I have had it pretty easy. The older I get the less patience it seems I have. I would rather drive 20 minutes of out of my way rather than sit in traffic for 20 minutes. I'll probably turn into one of those crotchity old men that bitches about everything. :(

Chris...man, what **** luck!!! I fly through Pittsburgh all the time, on US Airways and have never had that much trouble. They even got me through one time when I only had 12 minutes between connections and had to do customs.
I guess you don't need to hear about my good fortune.
Sorry about your bad luck and I hope things go better for you soon.
