I have an 04 yamaha 250 vmax, on my 22 ft. xpress bass boat. The boat is rated for a 300, and I would love to put a 300 on it. So here's my question, can I run a 300 powerhead on my mid, and lower. So I won't have to buy a whole new motor.

The adaptor plate between the pwrhead and the midsection is slightly different as there are cooling lines that come out of the adaptor and run up to the front of the block on the 300 but I have seen people swap them without doing this. You will also need an ECU for a 300 as they are different from the 250. You could also check with HydraTech about working your 250 up to a 300. It might be cheaper than another powerhead.
