What is a good price for a used one of these and is there anything to look for as far as wear? Thanks.

We've seen a few of the early 2.4L adapter plates that the threaded inserts that the swivel pin mounting bolts thread into were loose and therefore useless on any rig that didn't steer from the rear wing plates. Check it closely before you lay out the dough.

That could be bad news. I broke both those blots once and the only thing holding the motor on was the shift shaft. Pretty scary.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT IN THE E-MAIL I JUST SENT YOU. Damn Caps lock.......... I have loosened up a few of those cast in slugs. Like I said, the one I have now I did some pinning of the slugs and so far so good. I will let you know when I change mine.

Can anyone tell me why the perf motors run the one piece adapters and the fishing motors run the two?
Anyone else besides Balzy have an upgrade to make these things safer? Do the newer 2.5 ones have a better design?

They are stronger in one piece and the water dumps differently. The 2.5 stuff comes with a way stronger tiller arm.

How does a solid mount go into a one piece adapter or is it a part of the plate itself? Just curious
and always wanting to learn something!

it's part of the plate
The plate is just taped for the bolt or stud.
