Mercury 2.4 175, front half swap with wh-20's OR EFI with a horn?

I have an 87' 2.4 Mercury 175 Outboard and I'm looking at some upgrades.


1.) I am going to do the heads to 145#'s I guess but I have been told to also swap in a Horizontal front half, 5 peddle with wh-20 carbs.
2.) Is the above better than going EFI with a horn?


& If I wanted to go EFI what would I need and off of what years/motors?

The carbs will work fine. Somebody else will have to chime in about the EFI, but seems the early 2.4 parts should work.
