What do you guys think about the roll and tip method using awlgrip or sterling? I was planning to do this method on my transom and doing the top cap plus adding non skid on the whole deck.

With either of those paints, unless you have the experience and equipment, I think you will get a better result by rolling and tipping. Especially if you can do it in a climate controlled environment.

There was a post on here about roll and tip with Interlux perfection. I don't know anything about it, but looked nice.

yeah, perfection white is amazing, leaves almost no stroke marks. the other colors do, but you can sand and polish them out. really hard and durable stuff.

I roll and tip varnish and many Interlux and Petit marine paints with great results. I use economical yellow foam rollers that hold just the right amount of varnish or paint and tip off with expensive badger hair brushes. Like mentioned above, if there are some minor brush marks or dust, they can be wet sanded out with 1500 then 3000 grit paper and buffed with something like 3M Finesse-IT or the like. Depending on temperature and humidity, I add Penetrol or similar flow enhancer.

Good luck!
