I have a mercury 50 hp approx dated in the 1980's. I experienced hard starting last summer. I cleaned out the carbs with carb cleaner. By the end of the summer I noticed gas leaking out from underneath the carbs. I looked a little closer and noticed it was leaking from the rod that connects from one carb to another. This year I rebuilt both carbureator. I ran the engine and when idling it did not leak. When I put the engine in gear and gave it gas I noticed it began to leak. I don't know what the next step is, anyone with any ideas please help.
