Just curious if a stock 20 inch driveshaft from standard lower will fit a 20 inch sportmaster ? More than likely no but you guys would know .

I think the sporty drive shaft takes 2 bearings and is made out of mild steel and the standard driveshaft takes one bearing and is made from stainless steel.

Most lower units come with the driveshaft - did your Sporty not? The only issue here is whether or not your motor is a 2.5L or a 3L and that you have to match up.

Pull the small lower bearing race from the case, install the stainless fishing mota shaft set pinion height at .025 thous with a preload tool and right height checking stuff and never ever worry about a nickle plated steel shaft rusting or pitting or wiping out your lower pump seals again and enjoy your new life;););)and no you are not gonna break it with the average boaters use:cheers:
