Guys, I am looking at a 20" lower unit that has a one piece shaft, problem is that my current lower has a two piece shaft with the coupling. Is this a difficult modification or is it just a simple part change out? Thanks in advance!

Simple change. I did it with two torquemasters for my 300pm.

Are you buying a different lower unit with a 20" 1 piece shaft and want to know if it will just bolt in place of the 2 piece shaft lower??
If thats it then its no problem as long as the 2 piece lower is a 20" also.

Thats what i mean. I have a 2 piece 20" sporty and am looking at a one piece 20" tourque.

It's a direct bolt in. You may have to change the 4 studs on the mid section to shorter ones. But other then that it will go right in.

How is it a direct bolt on? Is there another coupling closer to the motor that is the second piece of the shaft that I remove? The shaft on the tourquemaster looks longer than on my speedmaster. I am just looking at a picture though. They are both for 20" mids. I know I am going to have to change the studs to the shorter ones.

if the torquemaster is a 20" with a 1 pc. drive shaft it will go right in without any coupler.
The 1 pc 20" driveshaft is the same length as the 2pc 20".

Your lower with the 2pc drive could be used on different length midsections by just changing the upper shaft length.
