Ok,Here's my predicament.
Am I correct in the understanding that the manual lift designation means the electrical output by the stator is less than needed for the electric tilt/trim set-up that its on.I recieved the boat with the package the way it is.I Enjoy the performance I get from the engine and have gone to high performance wires and BRX8 Irridium plugs just recently and would like to make sure I have the correct current for the electrical trim option.I have the oprotunity to also pick up a 1975 115HP with 135/137 compression and runs great for a good deal...is there anything special about the earlier motors aqnd would this be a good one to supe up??
Thanks you guys!

The higher compression is an issue when running regular gas. Also your 90 is a prop rated engine and the 115 is crank rated. In other words, they are both 90s!

Gotcha......Thank you for that Knowledge,I really have gotten hooked on the outboard scene and want to make sure I am not gonna hurt my engine but am looking to clean it up.I am gonna start a 75 Stinger performance rebuild project soon while trying to keep it old school and bitchen.thanks again, steve

It is likely the early 115 will have 4 exhaust ports vs the 3 cross-drilled exhaust ports on the 90. The cross-drilled ports flow more air/fuel.
