2.5L 280 Reed Cages???

Does any one make a replacement for the stock merc reed cage? I have broken 2 in the last 5 boat rides. The motor is a 2005 2.5L 280 ROS completely stock.

Are your's 7-petal or 5-petal?

His should be 5 petal WITH the gussets... Never the less 7 or 5 you or someone is torquing them TOO tight to the reed plate. Use red loctite ( 271 ) on the 2 1/4" X 20 attachment screws and use a 1/4" drive ratchet , contact the new gasket and then go 1/4 more turn then call it good..
