These pistons are number 1 period. what more can you ask for? they come already lightened and perfectly balanced unlike a merc piston. I have run them hard for 2 years on my warmed up 260 merc, tallied up about 75hrs, and pushed them to 9k rpms many times with big props. I ran on a diet of 93 premium fuel with Alisyn Pro Power 21 Oil mixed at 40-1 for most of that time. Last season I changed it up to 29cc heads and ran some 50/50 blend 93/110 sunoco fuel still mixing Alisyn at 40-1. So now, I just opened the motor this weekend expecting to be reringing the motor and what a pleasant surprise I got. These wizard pistons have plenty of life left and I will with no doubt run them another year. So kudus to Dean Pink for all the hard work and dedication he has put in to making an excellent product that holds up to our abuse.
I also just received the new crank double ring sealing rings for the crankshaft. The rings are pre-engineered with a relief radius that will reduce the amount of drag against the crankshaft inside groove radius. Another must have. check them out for your self here http://wizardraceshop.com/_wsn/page3.html

Very nice Helmut:thumbsup:
looking good at 75 hours, bought new top pin mahles 3 years ago and took one out at 75 hr looked like that ,gee i thought i might get 150 hr on this round, doing regular leak downs every 25 hours,at 100 hr showing 3% okay at 112 hr the motors lost 500 rpm and sure enough leakdown 6 to 8 % using merc gold rings merc hi perf blend 2 oil 33 to 1 pump premium, anyway your pistons come lightened ,i spent a few days lightening then down to 430 gm before installing them. now have 13 hr on new rings ,just changed top only and jim ruck gave me a finer hone job and said 75 hr max, took almost 8 hr to break them in ,and with the 35 cc heads feels stronger.j

And Jay, just thought I'd let you know I've been experimenting with your spacer plate. so far I have run this set up with a stock horn, then svs, then svs with your 1" spacer, now doing horn with your spacer.

Rob, I get the stuffing reed side of the intake to increase crankcase press. Don't get the horn stuffing, would think the straighter the path to the reeds the better.

Pistons look nice . when I took my Euro's 260 apart about 1 - 1/2 years ago it had factory side pin pistons that aside from more blow-by due to worn rings , looked similar to those . I ran Amsoil dominator and Pennzoil full Syn . for its 200 hour life . Motor did not expire , just knew it was time. It did need a Re - Nic though .

I'm not that familiar with the Wizards...are they coated from the skirt to the bottom ringland only, or are you getting that much blow-by past the top ring?

They are coated top to bottom. If you're focusing on the black build up between the rings that is the result of the unburned oil baking on at 1200* degrees. keep in mind I run a PCU computer which lets me adjust rich or lean from the drivers seat. I like most tend to leave it a little on the rich side so that is most likely the result of me in safe mode. These pcu computers also tend go very rich during decelleration to protect the engine from leaning out when coming off the throttle which helps cool down the piston aswell. the black stuff is a good sign. dont worry
heres a pic showing the top. notice the tan color. its not that rich when Im on it

Nice color, fair amount of build up on the top. Is it soft or hard?:smiletest:

Rob, the svs using 1 stack and no spacer plate was exactly the same as with using the spacer plate and removing the stacking plates on the svs. top end was the same. one thing i saw an improvement when running the spacer plate and svs was the pcu computer was much more responsive. I think with the increase in air volume behind the slide plate it helps regulate the vacuum much better and computer picks up a smoother more accurate vacuum reading. It especially helps if your crusing around varying the rpms.

Helmut, the bleed line hose routing helps a lot with that too...... and the 2 piece sealing rings.
