I have a 1986 VKing YT with a 15" Merc 2.5 Drag. The best GPS number I got was 100mph even on a Garmin 440s. That was with a Tillman modified 28" Chopper, 11.5" total setback and a Land&Sea hydraulic jackplate set all the way to the top. It should be faster. I think the pad is starting to delaminate. If anyone is interested in recoring it, the original Bruiser Blue gelcoat is in mint condition and it has the original interior, windshield and steering.

I have ran a yt now for 2 years and lov it.I run a mod vp bridgeport. The boat has for sure given me a hard time in set up.
What info i can tell you that i have been told,

Is 10 inch of set back. And that will help lift the bow so ya dont have to trim to the ski to fly.
Ive ran a 28 dah prop and a 30 dah with speeds gps well around 80 pluss.
But i also found that a mazco 26 pitch 4 blade gave me the bow lift i needed with the 5 inch set back i have now.
So im thinking if i find a 28 mazco 4 blade ill be getting closer to how i think it should fly.

I also have a 2nd yt and its running a 200 stocker. Now we have had it out 3 times and ran it with a 28 dah and it ran well.Im 1 inch above the pad on both and both also being 5inch set back

Here is a pic i was send from a guy awhile back of his older 100 mph yt.
look close at his set up.

If im able to help with anything at all let me know
