merc 2.4 200 and 2.5 200.power speed difference?

is there any notable power difference between 2.4 200's and 2.5 200's?anybody have a documented speed difference?.just wondering because i am in the market for a pair of drop ons....one more bonus question.lol...will a 2.5 powerhead and exhaust plate bolt on to a 2.4 tower and lower?.thanks for any info...

The only difference is the 2.5 will make a lot more low and midrange torque increasing acceleration.

ive got a 2.5 powerhead on a 2.4 offshore mid and centersection

a2.5 200 run at the same RPM as a 2.4 with the same gear ratio and the same prop is not any faster BUT it has the power to pull harder getting there!! and a hell of alot more fun!!

Merc school taught that the mid 80's 2.4 200 had 218 hp, the late 80's 2.4 200 had 212 hp, & the 2.5 200 had 202 hp. The low end on the 2.5 was much greater than the cid difference. Is this no longer true? Was it ever true?
