I'm doing a full resto on my '78 Viper and am thinking of putting my 2 stroke 90 Mariner on it. Anyone have a Viper with a 90 on it? If so how does it run? Thanks in advance,
Josh

Was hoping for a little more but, that's ok. Will at least get on the pad?

Thanks,
Josh

No, it will take low 60's to get it up on the pad. If you set it up right, you might get close.

Kid,
What pitch you runing on the 90? I have a God knows what kid 21p with a merc small shaft on it. It came on the 140 Chrysler Charger. Lower looks just like an old force, power head is an I4 twin carb and it has lwp on the stock gc.

Sorry, I got a little careless while typing and talking to my 3yr old! It's got a 21p with a small shaft merc hub.

Kid I plan on having my family with me most of the time so I need the extra room for the seats, otherwise I would have one seat in the center and weigh the hull with me in it to find the right setup for weight placement, gotta get as close to the center line of the pad and as low as possible with the center of gravity as you can.

I'm gonna get a plate too but have to wait for a bigger prop. Have my 21p on my skiff right now and have yet to try it, been way too windy!

Yes it will....sorta. My 25" V4 ran my boat 62-63 completely buried 7" below the pad and it was just barely getting there. Turned it 6400-ish with a 12.75 x 23 junk prop. Keeping in mind my boat was rotten and wet also. Just don't expect it to do it with a full fuel load, 4 people, and 3 coolers.
