Took the 1250 out for a spin today. First since I replaced last years 1100.

All I have to say is COOL. Its really snappy. ROcketed me right up to 57 mph like a shot. Kept getting a bit squirrly so I did not push it anymore tonight until I get a few things fixed. WOuld have hit 60mph pretty easy.

Had a bit of a moment at WOT getting off the gas a bit too quickly the boat wanted to turn around on me!

Id hate to have a total power loss at WOT it could be very interesting.

Sounds good Conrad. You'll want to get solid motor mounts if you haven't already! They are a must, I'd venture to guess thats where the squirliness came from.

What boat are you running that on?

I want to ask the same Milkdud, I have a Carlson Contender on the way to me that needs a new transom. That sure looks like the back of a Contender or Challenger to me....

EDIT: I looked at your profile, it is a Contender. I have a need for a I6 to bolt on mine (I think), wanna get rid of any of your shortshaft 6's?

Yep, I need to get ahold of Bruster and see if he has any more solid mounts left. It needs a swivel bushing job too....

Umm I have a 1965 900/90ci Short Shaft I might send down the road. Just got done with a re-seal job and new top bottom main bearings and a few other odds and ends.

Not as fast as my 1250 but still got my contender up into the low 50's

Send me a pm if you want a picture or two.
