I am looking for a "cruising with the wife" prop. I am currently running a cleaver very high on a manual jackplate. Becasue I have a very small boat, I have to come off plane or slow WAY DOWN often for big boat wakes cruising the ICW. The cleaver loses grip and just falls off plane making plowing through boat wakes a little hairy.
I would like a big diameter 3 blade that will run well without having to lower the engine. I have run a Trophy and I get a lot of torque steer / crabbing with the 4 blade. Something with a 4.25" can and 14" diameter and maybe 26 pitch would probably work well.

As far as the ET, I run a Yamaha Drag prop now for loads and its OK out of the hole but not like a through hub. With 3 people in the boat I am basically holding at 5800-6000rpm to get on plane. I wouldnt think an ET would be much different.
I am going to have Rich at Leading Edge work a 28 or maybe even a 30 clevaer for my go-fast prop but without a hydrulic jackplate, I really would like a through hub for running around with two or more people in the boat. It pops up so easy with the Trophy but I think the trophy is trying to walk across the surface crabbing the boat pretty hard.
I wish they made the through hub cleavers on a 4.25" can.

Be careful running that trophy on the surface, they break blades run like that. What is the diameter of a trophy 13 5/8? A real yamaha is 14 the ET is 14 1/2. The ET has a lot more grip than a yam.

the small hub trophy is 13-3/4" but its 4 blade... too bad they don't make a tempest in that size.

So theres no 3 blade through hub 14" or better props...bummer.
I may try an et some time and I am sure holeshot is better but its not going to let me slow way down and control staying on plane like a through hub.

Something like this in a 26 or bigger pitch would be the ticket for me. Maybe they can make one. I think its small tube.

Will the blades stay on if surfaced?

Is the Turbo TXP OT4 a small tube like the Trophy. The diameter is big and maybe it would run well?
