Anyone familiar with the LS Torque shift?

I found a Torque Shift prop in my storage shed. I kind of remember someone giving it to me many years ago, in pieces, in the original box. It had the blade bushings removed and brand new ones in the pkg. in the box. Why?, I don't know, the old bushings looked perfect, as does everything else on this prop. The blades, hub and all other parts look like new too. It had very little use.

Anyway, I installed, and drilled the bushings and reasembled the thing and I'm gonna try it on my Venus for fun.

I have a 200 Yamaha, Bob's low cone, 6" plate, and an XT hull.

The prop appears to have the 26 blades, silver 15# springs and Z cams.

I read Bob Merriam's site on these and it looks to be set up for an I.O. and the limit screws were way out.

My 25 Ballistic currently runs 70 at 5700, but is slow on the holeshot.

Any thoughts on this? I'd like a good lake prop with some bottom end for carrying weight.

I did order a Yamaha 26 drag copy from Ron Hill today for all out top end..

Thanks, Ron

Just do not surface it or the blades will fly off.

Agree. They were well know as prop bombs. They work great on small block Alfa Drive I/O's and big outboards that run with the prop buried. Get it near the surface and BOOM!

They really are an impressive prop when used properly. They are an excellent ski prop and excelerate hard but run them near the surface and they break.

Thanks for the info. I probably would not have lowered the plate and blown it up for sure.

Thanks, Ron

awesome out of the hole. really not that great for anything else. you won't lose many drag races to 40mph. it takes a strong skier to hold on.
