Hello everyone of course I'm the new guy. I'm in the Marine Corps and looking at a couple boats but I dont know much about jet boats. One is a 1973 Tahiti with alot of parts but a project and a Cheetah boat that has a 302 ford and a volvo out drive, I dont know what year or model yet but the kid only wants 600 bucks. The hull and drive apear to be in good shape but the motor locked up do to lack of oil. I currently have a 1981 Glastron Carlson C500 with a 1982 Suzuki DT85 thatI restored last year (my dad bought it new in 82 and I cant get rid of it). Any info on the two boats, ie... if their a good boat to have with a family. I have a 406 sbc that seems like it would fit well in the cheetah but i dont think the volvo drive is factory, and I'd rather it be a squirter. Thanks to all for any info.

Welcome! I'd mess with the Tahiti, but kinda partial to the old Tahiti jets. Friend had one way back, and a lot of fun!

I would actually go onto Performanceboats.com and ask over there. There are so many more jet and I/O guys on that site.
The majority of the guys on S&F run outboard setups..
Good Luck with your decision and I hope this helps.
Thank you for your service.....
