What years did mercury have red and white shop jackets that had mercury down the arms, american flag patch on the shoulders?

DOn't know but I've got one of the silver ones with mercury down the arms from the late 70's that looks like the trans am jackets of the era.

Only one I have seen with mercury down the arms

I got two of them they are very thin, summer type jacket. I think they are from before mercury made the Sno-Twister? One has american flags on the shoulders and maple leafs on the cuffs. Trying to find out how old they might be?

They are from the mid 1970's. They were on the back of the 1976 Hi Performance catalog

They had blue and white, red and white, then a heavier lined black and white. Sam is correct about the era with the 1st ones showing up in the early 70's...........Actually for sale at OPC race events off the Team Mercury trucks for $40-50. The black lined one I had was from the later 70's.
About 1985, they came out with another all black version, much lighter,, but better quality than the original 70's versions.

I still have a red and white one from the mid 70's that I got in Canada and it has a red maple leaf on it. For some reason it doesn't seem to fit anymore!

Just threw out my red/maroon Dinner Jacket which Mercury supplied to all Drivers 'cause some of us didn't quite look the part when it came to post race dinner parties. Parkinson still has his and he says he can still get into it, but he's Mercury P.R. so we all know what a crock - of - sh-- that is.!!!!!! Had that at the same time as the silver Race Jackets and winter warmers.

Don't tell me you threw out your red/maroon Mercury Dinner Jacket for drivers! We're trying to preserve Outboard Racing History & memorabilia, & you're throwing it away to charity. Now some "bum" is wandering the back alleys of France wearing a red/maroon Mercury Drivers Dinner Jacket. Isn't that ironic!

I also have some thin mercury jackets that are all blue with a MERC patch I think they are from around 1975 or 76?
If any of you guys have any old merc coats from about 1976 and earlier that you don't want send me a pm. I am trying to get one of each of the racing or shop jackets that mercury had. I really want a L or XL red and white one, if any one has one.

David Parkinson was CEO of JBS Assc. -----the firm that took care of Mercury PR over here in Europe. He still has every Mercury jacket ever made. Give him a call and see if you can squeeze the one your looking for out of him.
He still has the FONDA trophy that he had commissioned for the world series, one of the best trophies ever.

Aw c'mon Mark, for 40 years nobody wanted that jacket, now suddenly i'm a moran and there's a very smart "bum" walking around in a red jacket. His need was greater than mine.
