I'm taking my lower unit to bob's next week to get a lwp put on. There is so many options I dont know which one to get. Im leaning towards the bigfoot with the dual hoses. i have a 17' outlaw with a 98 johnson 225. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thats what I bought.I took it out today and it worked ok,.I tried to use the flusher they sent to me it didnt work.Iam calling them monday. They told me its really for the mercury cle and that I would have to cut it with a razor knife. Not happy with it.

Well they did a good job on the case. The case isnt the same as a cle.So the flusher, they should have trimed it to work. The shop that rebiult my lower unit said he trimmed it but I dont think he did it right.Iam going to send it back if they can trim it for me or Ill try and trim it myself if they wont do it.

dual hose is a waste of $ get the single hose but tell them u want it on the port side so u can get to the oil screw! THATS only thing i hate about bobs is they block yhe oil screw with the hose.
i run single hose on all my v6 cases on my v8 omc works great:thumbsup:
i also make my own flusher by geting bennett trim tab hose ang cutting it into 4 12" strips and stick them down ur hose and insert them in the bullet holes i normaly skip the middle and use the outside 4 holes works like a champ plenty of wtr prs while flushing.

Thanks. they recommended the dual hose for 225+hp but most of the ones ive seen people run are single hose. the bigfoot has the water pickups on the bottom only, do you guys run lwp's with multiple pick up locations? Im not going to be runing shallow so i don't worry about running into sand or anyhting like that.

Iam running the duel hose and have to use a special screw driver to get to the oil screw.I noticed a lot of water pressure running high speed on my gauge yesterday.Going out late this afternoon to test somemore.

I have two bobs lwp nosecones, one is a sportmaster lookalike and due to the slightly higher holes good to 1 in below the pad 20-18 psi, other a bigfoot is good even to the pad 28 psi, both single pickups.
Why buy a flusher at all, take apart the external plumping and hook the hose direct to it,takes about 1 min.
And main difference between me and others that use lwp I use mine shallow as all get out not just for speed, both are omc motors,it merely makes my allison 2002 capable with a 200 hp venom to bump 90 with a 29 p,yet enables me entrance into shallow bays where its slightly deeper once one gets in.
Generally end up fishing in 1 1/2 to 2 ft of water in the fall. With the entrance down to a ft at times..

Is it possible to have too much water psi? this is my first time running a hyd jackplate and lwp combo.

Dont think so as my bobs on a manual jp ,gets 30 max thats as far as my guage goes, till I trim it way out and fly the nose, thats on the lil allison and the bigfoot.
As for buying a special water hookup to run on land this works nicely.http://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp228/lilmule12002/bobslowwaterhookuptowater.jpg
