Alright has anyone ever got any got use out of the Champion Spark Plug? My best plug was the ngk bz7hs10. I am going to try the Champion one more time.

For a 3.0L that is what it takes to make it run.

You like em shooter? I'm wondering if anyone has good luck with the 280. When I had trouble with my 280 it seemed like the ngk's lasted better than the champions, the ngk bz7hs10 would outlast the champion ql77cc. I now have a extra set of champions that i will soon find out if they will last on a good computer and was curious if anyone has had luck with them. Lots of 280 owners out their what plug are you all running?

I had some in a steel sleeve cut to drag specs, and they were sending a funky message to My computer via an unpreferrable ohm reading through the plug making My computer go full rich to save the engine and it ran like dog poo... After almost being cussed straight by Jay Smith I changed them to NGK's... I'm not kidding the engine picked up over 100 hp, this is a guess but not an exageration... It went from barely running very wet and sloppy and using buckets of fuel, to snapping very sharply and screamed like a chased ape with a plug change alone... Strangest engine improvement I've ever made... I can't speak for all, but My computer did not get along well with them...

On my 280 rebuilds I use BPZ-8H-N-10 ( the OEM replacement for the Champion "JUNK" ) they work GREAT..

The only thing champion plugs are good for is my potato launcher.

I can make my champions last atleast a half of summer that's with alot of idling when i'm skiing ngk's for some reason won't last 30 seconds idle time in my 280 foul right away:( i've try the ones jay uses and still the same results but for some reason the $1.99 ql77cc run good Jeff Baker would laugh because my motor likes the cheap plugs:D

Hey, they make pretty decent sinkers if you're bottom fishing and getting tired of buying lead. Might even be more environmentally freindly considering that they don't burn fossil fuel.:D

Michael ,
Your TPI is set wrong OR you ECU is too rich for your ambient temps and humidity that would be the ONLY reason an NGK wouldn't out perform a Champion I have 280s that idle and foul plugs UNTIL I do some adjustments go to the NGK and WA LA problem solved..The OEM plug of choice for the later 280 was the NGK I sited in earlier posts , they ( Mercury ) have super cieded the NGK in place of the Champion for some reason ....

i've also had a couple of 280's that had questionable plug wires, changed the wires and problem solved
