lubing the cylinders will help, but might not save the engine,I'm old school so I would use either automatic trans. or diesel fuel, loosen off the valve springs, pull the distributor and run up the oil 'fresh oil' with an electric drill, after letting it soak for a couple days with the domes covered in the trans,or diesel fuel. just my 2cents,or be safe and tear it down so you don't tear up the expensive pieces. pull the drive to make sure that's not the problem

Define "won't turn over". Are the grounds good? Starter not engaging? Slave solenoid just clicks? etc etc etc.

After you "oil it", see if you can turn it over by hand with a breaker bar and socket on the crankshaft nut in the harmonic balancer, keep the spark plugs out when you try.

I 've used marval mystery oil. But trans fluid will work too, Pour a few ounces in the spark plug holes let it sit for a coupla days and see if she will turn.
While you waiting do as the capt. told you and clean all the electrical connections. and test the starter, Some of those starters are a little tought to get out. On my old chapparelle it was really tight in the bilge area, I has to rig up a 9/16 wrench with a piece of pipe and grind it thinner, so be prepared if you need to pull it.

It could have nothing to do with the motor as well, if water was in the bellows and the gimbal bearing rusted up.

we had to replace the starter some years ago...i don't think i have a starter problem...i think the rings are stuck and need to be lubed with a good penetrating oil....bob

Kroil used it to free up a few engines. Let it soak for a day and spray again. Good stuff good luck. Rick
