Which model of the early 70's in line had the odd powerhead bolt pattern?

1970-1971 1250 and 1350, I believe. (1350 I KNOW...)

I think it is 68-71 100's 115's 125's & 135's ... all that is really odd about it is that there are 2 more bolts at the back compared to the 57-67 pattern. (If its just the 2 years the hp is 115 & 135. 125 & 135 weren't made at the same time.)

72 is a transition year. Left over 115's have the old pattern, 140's have the new pattern.

Thanks Sam. I just snagged a very nice 72 140 for 100 bucks. I was pretty sure they had the common pattern, it's for a cut down a mid to use on my Vixen.

The 1972 1400 was the change year; the pattern is the same as the later
inline 6 engines.

Naw it's a long shaft. Stumbled on it at a garage sale. I have a 12 inch cut down mid I made for it over the winter though. It'll be a squatty tower of power :)
