How much setback for a heavy 18 1/2 ft bass boat??

I'm putting a 225 on a heavy bass boat and I have a 10" and a 8" jackplate. Which one would work the best???? Any input would help!:thumbsup:

That can be a complex answer to a seemingly simple question... It has to do with hull weight, hull length, hull design, horsepower, engine weight, prop selection, typical carried load, intended usage, alignment of the Egyptian Pyramids, etc... I will say that with a basic and typical circumstance, 8"-10" is a popular choice and often works well...
