HAHA Years back my buddy bought a vette with a blown motor and a bowrider burned to a crisp with only a good motor he actually put it in the vette when he popped the hood I almost pissed my pants laughing. I don't know what conversions had to be done but when you saw the mercruser valve covers it was a hoot.
Should probably pull atleast 4 skiers

I put a 305 Mercrusier in a Jeep C-5 the one major diffrence is the cam,, a car has hardley no load on the motor once up to speed, on a boat the motor is under a good load ALL the time so the cam lift and duration and seperation is much diffrent than a car cam.

I wanna know if anyone's ever put a hypo 2-stroke powerhead in a car (imagine a 2.4 or 2.5 merc in an old RWD starlet!!!)... anything's possible, but it'd be tricky

Never seen one in a street car, but there have been a few sandrails and stuff.
Outboards have been used in some car racing classes since the early 1930's.
Midgets used to run a special OMC race motor before the Offenhauser motor took over. Sports car race classes had a lot of attempts of using outboard motors in the classes less than 90ci (1500cc) before imports with small motors were popular.
I have a 66ci Merc motor that was converted to use in a sports car and pics of a 63ci McCulloch that was used in a sports car ... probably the same class back in the '60's.

I had a neighbor who put a 235 OMC in an Indian motorcyle..... bunch of torque
I did but the outdrive looked funny out of the trunk, had to change to air pitch.
Cessna style

You may want to change distributors to get a bit more advance, it can increase milage.
Warning:
Do NOT go street racing around Fon Du Lac, there are a LOT of BLACK motors under those hoods.

Late 60s omc v-4 powerheads in home built helicopter kits, they were not very safe with that piece of crap ignition systems.

LOL
I had the opportunity and got to rebuild the LU on an original 62 Mercruiser, ID on it didn't have a 'I' yet cause the 'II' didn't exist when it was made.
250 c.u I-6 Dual carbs
Sorely temped to slide a 292 under that head.
Talked a friend into buying the boat, He's still rebuilding the floor, seats, etc.
Someday it will be completed again. Then he can start nagging me to get MY '62 going.
