I had to replace one of my carb bodies when I found a mixture screw had been overtightened and the tip was broken off and buried in the seat. I am cleaning up the garage and was going to throw this away but thought I would give removing it one more try. I heated the area with a propane torch hoping the tip would just drop out but no luck. I also tried running a wire in from the port in the venturi to push it out but there is a 90 degree bend and the wire wont go past it. Also tried compressed air.
Any other suggestions before I pitch it? I may just put the torch to it real good and see what happens. Not much to lose.
If anyone wants it, its a 6L102 off a 130 Yamaha.

By over tightening it the carb was damaged beyond repair anyhow. I would toss it.

I will probably just pull all the reusble stuff out and pitch it. It was really just a challenge to see if I could get it out more than anything.

You might try to find a buddy (draftsman, dentist, fuel-injection shop, etc) who has an ultrasonic cleaner big enough to drop it in.
Sometimes the vibration will knock loose all kinds of stuff. Might be worth a try before you throw it out.
Good luck

As a last resot you can try hanging the carb in the oven with the needle port down and warm it up to 350F, once hot give it a ring with a urethane hammer until the brass pin falls out. It usually works but you may have to tap it many times and throw it back into the oven to keep the AL hot. Sometimes a blast with "supercold" is needed to shrink the brass tip enough to get it to fall out while the carb is hot.
It works, been there done that a few times...just give it a good afternoon of heating and tapping and shots with the "supercold" before you give up.;)
