Ok the lee caft is a bad idea. So I've been thinking about trying to lighten up my sleek. I'm quite good with wood and glass so I was thinking to pull out the floor and the seats and anything else I can remove to make it lighter. These boats do handle the rough very well so I'd thoought i'd try this. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

I would like to get it under 1000lbs 800 lbs would be really sweet but I'm not sure thats even possible. My motor is a very highly modded 2.4 brigeport I was told it made over 330hp idk. I think I read that they weigh just under 1400 with no engine.

I once had a project Sleekcraft hull,,,, was a jet and we were gonna convert to OB with beefy transon. Took too much time away from productive beer drinking, sold it to a guy who put a jet back in it...
Where in Cheyenne can you boat at ? I was there many years ago, we built the Coastal Chemical plant there... used to get tossed outta the Crow's Nest once in a while....fun days but dayumm cold in tha' winter time.

We boat at Gurnsey, Glendo, and Grayrocks there all about an hour from Cheyenne. I wonder if a yamaha drag prop 24 would work good on the sleek.

Frankydee its a 1985 Sleek sst I'm just trying to do a budget build for this year. I've had all this stuff for years I've tried selling all of it but no one was interesed so no I figure one more summer. The motor is fresh and really rowdy for a bridgeport. So if I could get It lightened up it would be a really fast Sleek. Thanks for your reply.

Yamaha props break on a heavy boat, try calling proformance propeller, talk with Billy or Tim, they make a prop that works like a Yamaha drag but doesn't break, their 4blade will work good for you. You will never get enough weight out of your boat to run with that jet.:D I would not cut up a nice boat up trying to make it something it's not. You need a light 500lbs STV,Allison, etc with a hot 2.5 drag if you want to run with your buddys jet.

D.B.S. Thanks alot for the info. Yeah your right I should just sit out this year and focus on the boat I really want. I have a Checkmate with a 200 thats really nice so I'll just boat that this year. I'm working on getting a 19' cougar v-drive. Hopefully I can get it. Then next year will be a different story.

I've had flats and jets in the past, and I have aways wanted v-drive tunnel, I was thinking about 500lbs tunnel with a LS7 out of a Z06 corvette, you can buy the motor from GM 505hp and turn 7000rpm, but funds are tight right now so I'll keep what I have..

Its always been my dream to have a v-drive tunnel. There's a real clean 1993 cougar near me that I've been talking to the guy. I hope I can pull it off. An LS engine would be fun to play with in a v-drive light and powerful.
