At what stage of modification is exhaust relief necessary on a looper? Or is it even necessary?
Mine is relieved and it is unpleasantly loud. I am in the process of putting it back together stock and closing the relief holes in the foot. But am also interested in getting another motor and building one of the 300 hp motors that are being talked about on this forum to play with. Does the stock unrelieved foot have enough exhaust area to accomodate the gases/heat produced by 300 hp and still running the limiters?
