has anyone done this. what kind of result would you get. i have a 2 liter with the 14 pedal reed cage the block is 060 over and finger ported. a "real" mechanic said it would come apart because of being unmatched. any feed back would be good. 80's motor

I swap fronts around all the time...I juss remove tha dowl pins, and let tha mains center everthang up...I have had one or 2 that would make tha crank tight when torque'd down, so I wouldn't use that front....99% ov tha front half's and back halfs will match without problems....

Nothing to it and it's done everyday. T-rex said it and I agree. Bound to help because of more flow, BUT it does cause a loss of low end with 14 petal cages but not much. The crankcase pressure is a little higher at idle on the ten petal units. It's a painless easy swap.

If the motor still has the stock 150hp tuner you need to swap it out. A 200hp tuner would be great and most likely easy to find. Set them side by side and you`ll see the differance.
