Any advise as to what props run best on these boats, I know they are quiet rare, but my buddy just picked one up. 3.0 liter carb 225, unfortunately its a 25", Anyways on ce we get a 20" mid, Whats the best prop and what speeds should we see?
We ran the boat with a 26p Chopper just to try it out, ran 65mph at about 5600 rpm. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Most likely you'll achieve best results with a cleaver style prop.

Best all around prop to try out would be a Drag 4, Your not gonna like a cleaver I don't think, they suck for getting out of the hole, there top end props mainly.

I pretty familiar with like a skater set-up with twins, but ive never set up a single engine cat. It does hole shot pretty well with the current prop 26p chopper but I doubt thats the best prop to run on this boat.
Keep the info coming... Thanks

My father had one years ago. Single 200 merc, 15" setback and I think a 28 or 30 chopper. Would run 75 all day and I think he was able to squeeze 80 out of it on a real good day. Motor was mounted on the transom when he got it, ran much better with the setback bracket. Still had issues with porpising in the mid range, but you learn how to drive around that with seat time.

What speed are you trying to get out of it? I have seen this boat trying to catch up to that blue action marine in the keys but i dont think this cat is going to be able to do more then 115mph.......game over!!!
