2k paint with flattening agent, then sprinkle coarse sugar into it when wet. Once dry, hose all teh sugar out and you have the best non skid ever.
Because you are creating a coarse finish, you can use a foam roller to put the paint on and don't even have to thin it to roll it, so it's super easy and you get a nice thick coat in one go.

Truckbed liner is great but heavy.

Gel or Paint , with a brush and roller . Then sling in another color splatter . A Light Grey , will clean up better then the White will . But it's just a matter of personal prefferance . I'd stay away from the Bed Liner stuff , because it's heavy ,and if you ever need to do any more repair work .

sounds good! any paint preferences? as for the splatter, you just literally buy another color of paint and sling it on?

Yep , That's how I've done it several times now , on differant boats . Any good quality paint will work . I used an industrial product from Shirwin Wilaims ,that we use at work .

Take a few test swings at something else before you go at it on the boat , to get a feel for it .

Good Luck !

I rolled out white gel in my Vector, then took the boat up to fiberglass shop. They matched the color of my boat, red, and I did spiderweb paint with it. Get a webbing agent to mix with the color matched gel. Use a regular paintgun, very easy and it looks great! Give me your email and I'll send you some detailed pix. Carpet looks so 80's and holds moisture. If you can't find any webbing agent, I think I have enough left over that could send you some.

When I put a new floor in my son's boat I used a paint from 3m called P51 its a 2 part epoxy, awesome stuff stinks like hell. Only comes in gray and black.

Took my floor from carpet to painted bottom

fun part removing carpet, grinding out old glue
then seal floor with an epoxy sealer

next picked blue polyurethane (single part enamel)
and added fine sand for texture
(and also makes it not slippery when wet)
"3 coats for total coverage durablity"

before last coat dries, splatter in second color...
*note: If using dark base color use light color for splatter
and Visa/Versa

Last let paint dry/set for 2 days and reinstall interoir...
Easy to clean and stays much dryer
(and thats very important as we all know when dealing with Hydrostreams)

Hope this helps...Good Luck:thumbsup:

all this helps. right now it has a splatter paint finish with no texture. I am about to move the seats around and do some overall glass work inside the boat and want it all to match, thats why im redoing it. I like the sand idea for texture. did you mix it in the paint or spinkle it on the wet paint? how much paint did it take to do your boat?

Put the sand in the paint and mix...
This assures that the consistancy is even through out the whole floor...
No need for sand in splatter...
Epoxy sealer was 2 part (total of 1/2 gallon) "did not use it all"
Blue color I used just over a quart...
and splatter less than a pint...
