Here is a scan of some experimental racing props by Record Props of Swtizerland from 1966. Check out these details: solid hubs (no rubber cushion) very early 3 blade SuperSpeedmaster cleaver and the tuned exhaust restrictor on the bottom one

There were also props made for the regular lower unit without the exhaust ring, just in case you thought this was something that came out in the 80's or 90's

We also ran Michigan "hubless" props (without exhaust tubes) back in those days.......They ran about as fast as Jon Culver's modified Mercury props but broke more prop shafts....

Another prop maker for the Speedmasters was Cary Propellers. George Linder ran a pair of round eared Cary's on his twin 110 merc powered Carlson.

We exclusively used Phil Rollas Cleavers in the early '70's. Worked well for us.

I ran ROLLA RECORD props all my racing career, still friends today with the man, one of only a handful of true "Propellor men".

These also fit the regular gear shift case. Hard to tell if they were for the same application

Prior to the '69 Stock Outboard Nationals at Hinton WVA Mr. Rolla sent me a letter stating he had some 3 blade props for A and B stock and he would like me to try one - I had bought several Record "A" props previously. I replied that , no, I thought 3 blade props were only for power applications. Seems to me the winning A hydro that year ran - yep! A Record 3 blade!

The mercury props are BP props with a 12" diameter the record props are a little smaller so I doubt they were made for anything else. The gentleman who sold the Record props to me used them on 1250 SBP in that time period .

Reminds me that when we were racing we were always trying to find the magic prop for our boat. It seemed that every conversation between us would inevitably turn to props.
