Ok so this is a dumb question. My wife asked me last night what we needed to bring for this trip and I couldn't give her an answer. Do most people cook out (Lunch/dinner) or do they go to the resturant/ bar at river ranch? We have never been on this tip so I am just trying to get some ideas. Are there any boat up bars on the lakes? Just trying to fiqure out how much food and beer we need to bring with.

Thanks!

There is a good restaurant on site as well as a general store that makes breakfast sandwiches as well as lunch sandwiches . The restaurant is where most people go with some small grilling venues going on as well . The store sells basic brands of beer , ice , etc but it's best to bring your own stash of beverages if major consumption is on the menu !! See you there .

This is my first time on the Chain of lakes. I was looking on google earth and it looks like we can run through all 4 lakes. Are the cannals that connect the lakes no wake or do they have a speed limit like 25 mph? How deep is the lake? Are there markers to show the way thru the lakes? I'm so looking forward to this trip!

FAST520
05-06-2010, 08:59 AM
You can run all 4 Lakes, Its about 60-65 Miles, Some the guys ran to Kissimmee for lunch. There are some markers but not many in the big part of the lakes. I'm pretty sure there is not a 25 mph speed zone. They don't want you to run side by side in the canals.

I know where RR is, but nothing about this event, so please give whatever info you can. I am interested in going for the day on Sat., probably not staying over, unless I pitch a tent. Who do I pay for the BBQ, where do we start in the am, and is there a map of the lakes wherever everybody is going? I have (slow) 90 hp boat, so I'd also be interested in chipping in for gas to get a fast ride. Thanks.

i cant say i did not know better. we all knew when the accident happened my he rest in piece that this place was over.

what can u say meet up with the guys and have a good time hagging.

Well when you look at it, who are the ones that populate the area? It is the "northerners" they spend bunches of money in the imediate area. We come rolling in, with our bright boats and they dont like the noise nor the people. They complain enough and FWC has to come show their presense and make it suck. I saw a few out there today, never got stopped, but I will say this. There was an occurence way before any crash happened, this was around the 1st or 2nd River Ranch. A few guys decided to "taunt" the game wardens and it was down hill from there. Thus the reason they say no side by side running, no racing and have cracked dowm ever since. I am sure you know what I am talking about. I am not saying it is time for a new spot, but it is time to lay off for a while. The locks will be closed till December, so that being said, give it till after then to smooth down and it will be different sailing from there. You wont see me throw anyone under the bus but things can be avoided. Not stating any occurences from this River Ranch or the past few. It dates back a long time ago.

we went to mlk st and had lunch. some one called off the the man sounds like, they calmed down witch was great. im greatful they are around in case of an accident or some one drunk is about to kill some one or something.

had a great time thanks tom for another great function!!!!!!!

we went 92 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!rollin.water condition for 20' and under a 9+!!

i watched an ear fly over my head from worrens prop after it broke the ear off completly. he was off to my right about 40 yards away from me just ahead one time when we were running.i thought he had hit a can and it went way up and over me 50 feet over me then he slowed down and there it was an ear gone.if we would have been side by side and a little less hight it would have cut through the boat and me like a cleaver witch it was!!!

i've never seen so meny life lines and jackets worn it was great for me to see. i felt that it was just a little safer out on the waters with u crazys being tamed down alittle great week end thanks again tom and scream and fly.

I Agree , That Saturday , turned out to be a Good Day , spent with Freinds .
It just Sucks , that it takes a Show of Force , like this to make it happen .
Don't take what I'm saying wrong . I beleive , we should be able to run ours boats across an open body of water ,as fast as we want to , without the threat of fines , and or arrest . But we all know , there have been some , Way Stupid Things , going on , that where out of control , and should have been treated as so .

I would much rather watch a side by side Drag Race ,and Top End runs , by people in control of there boats ,and paying attention to there suroundings . Then some guy out doing High Speed Wheelies , and cutting doughnuts , weiving in out out of boat traffic , like a Idiot !

As for the Yankees , being the problem . Not sure how that is , when we are not running in any populated areas . We Party at the Ranch , who benifits from our spendings , and then we head over to the ridge . Where are all these pissed off northernes coming from ?

Either Way , I'll Be Back , When Ever My Freinds Decide , There Going To Be There !

I had a good time even tho the few hiccups it was good seeing everyone, and meeting new people.Even tho the little scare Friday with the FWC making there presents known all in all was a good time Saturday. Prompts to Tom and Gina for going the extra miles for everyone. The weather was perfect besides the little bumpy ride across the lake. Its pretty obvious that River Ranch wasn't very appreciated of making that kinda money but even with that i had a great time putting faces with names on here and making new friends see y'all at the Suwanee

Had a great time as well! Even though I was feeling a little under the weather Saturday and missed the run across the lake, was still a good trip! Great to see everyone again and meet some new people as well!

Yeah ...sat night was a challenge for me as well !! As far as "River Ranch People " the small interruption at the BBQ was just a small speed bump , no worries there . There was a lot going on for the staff there to handle so that was no big deal at all . I missed a few people for their shirts and will PM them and get them shipped . Thanks to Kim and Regan for the clean up help while all us guys partied away !!:thumbsup:

Tara and I had a great time!!!! Weather was perfect. Thanks Tom and Gina for all your efforts. Tom I will be shipping you a fire extinguisher, maybe you can find room for it among all the other crap you bring on board.:D I would also like to give a BIG thanks to Shaun Torrente, Dominique, and Big Don Gardner, without these guys, I would have been stuck at the dock on Sat. They tore my motor apart like a bunch of Nascar techs and had me up and running in no time. Thats what I love about this group of people. Thanks again

My daughter and I enjoyed seeing all the boats on Sat.
It may not be 100% to blame but the weekend prior a couple of men in airboats got into a scuffle, one ended up in the ER in a coma and the other one got the chrome bracelets. SO There would have been a large police turnout with or without the S&F'ers IMO. That said I am sure the FWC has been checking out S&F.
If someone complained about the noise the airboaters would be up the creek 24/7 including the FWC boat.
BTW- To all on the ridge Sat. you are all welcome, my snow white boat is a real bug magnet. The millions it attracted was that many less that you had to deal with. It was a priveledge to serve in some capacity:eek: :D They taste like chicken.

i really had a great time to spite my new ali not behaving. actually put 5 hours of running time on the motor (now it has a whopping 11 hours on it). thankyou tom for your work and the beautiful shirts. a super thanks to jeff zimmer for dialing in my ali ( my meticulous measurement of the shaft to pad was off about 3 inches!!!) and for keeping most of my blood inside me after my co pilot ran me over with the trailer. 3 ribs, 5 shaved toes, one road rashed thigh and 25 stiches later and i'm a happy camper again.

Glad to hear you made it home...and got all stitched up.

Would have loved to take you for a ride in that beautiful new boat of yours. Hopefully, we got the engine height close enough for you to thoroughly enjoy it. Take your time learning it, you get her figured out soon enough.

Nice to meet you and Billy, and hopefully you're not too sore today.
