if you aint got a lifting ring then yeah... we usually take a starter bolt out then put it throught a link on the chain then put it back one then on the opposite side do the same thing get a bolt that will screw into the thread on the other side... or we have a puller with a small shackle welded to the top.

Use a puller you dont need to take anything loose, you need 3 5/16 fine thread bolts, thread them into the flywheel about 8 turns, dont go to far as the timer is below. Run a chain under the puller and lift up

You have a stock flywheel or flexplate? Your mention of loosening flywheel bolts suggests flexplate.

Barry is correct on the flexplate. Shaun had told me a while back it was stock so I assumed flywheel as well, if it does have a flex plate you need a special tool. Standar flywheel any wheel puller will work or I can get you a lift ring.

That is the stock flywheel. You can do it like Alan said with three 5/16-24 bolts, a common puller plate and some chain if you have to.
The real puller and lift ring tool comes with proper shoulder bolts and the lift ring is a large eyebolt that threads in where the push bolt normally goes. Very sturdy and will be useful if you think you will ever work on the engine.

You will probably have to order one from your local OMC/BRP dealership. They definately come in handy.

If your buying a lift ring, go through Al.
If not, PM me your email and I will send you a picture of the lift plate I made for about $5 that can be made to work with just about any engine. Just have to drill some holes.
