trying to boost up my 150

i have a 97 mariner mag 3 150 whats the easiest way to gain some horse power and rpms??? any help is appreciated..:)

You'd be better posting this in the technical section.

Removing the timing box will allow the engine to rev higher. Changing the tuner would probably help, but that is controversial here. I persist in thinking that you can improve upon the 150 tuner. More compression will help acceleration. You can also replace the carbs with 200 carbs.

Search on XR6 mods, same motor, and it has been discussed before.

Optimizing set up is even better.

ok ill look for xr6 mods and how would i go about removing the timing box?? im new to this i have had my boat for a while and im just tired of getting beat to my fishing holes so i want to have a faster motor hiding under my 150 cowl haha
