So I want to keep options open as to what motor to throw on my Vector instead of my 115 Merc I6. The boat has dual cable steering and a hot foot with the cannon style plug Merc plug in the boat.
Looking for an adapter to go from the cannon style merc plug in the boat to a Johnson motor. I found this but not sure if it's correct. Any advice?

Also looking for adapters to go from the merc cable ends to johnson cable ends. Nothing I found said this, can somebody point me in the right direction if such a thing is made?
Thanks all
Dustin

The hot foot will have to be modified also,Merc pulls the cable OMC pushes it.I made a bracket to change the location on the pedal where the cable mounts and is attached. It worked fine after being modified. Also had to install a return spring on it.

You can get a control box on ebay for under $100. Plus 2 new cables. Hot foot should work with either, same with steering... If you get an OMC you can have all of the free advice you want from me

Well the reason I was thinking adapters is due to the fact I wouldn't have to take it all out. If for whatever reason I wanted to switch back to Merc, it was just removing adapters, slapping it on, and plugging it in.
I'm like a fart in the wind, you never know what direction I'm going to go. :D
Are these the cable adapters I would need?

I plan to use my InControl "pull-style" foot throttle with my OMC...just have to use a longer cable and route in the other side and around the back of the motor and build my own bracket for the throttle.

DO NOT pay 150 for an adapter
I would buy a used merc and used omc harness and make my own adapter in about 20 mins. THe last OMC harness i bought it for 10 bucks so theres no way i would pay that much for an adapter :nonod:

Baja200merk - Not buying that particular one, and I'd try to find a deal at worst case or build my own, just wanting to make sure I'm on the right path as far as the harness goes. I'm doing things on a budget too. ;)
Keith - I assume like what was said above I can use my hot foot with a slight mod?
Anybody on the cable ends?

QH, pull throttle is pull throttle...if you have enough cable, route it around the back.
I have seen Merc to OMC adapters on Ebay for around $50.

Easiest way out there may be 33c universal cables and change the ends for the motor of the day :D

You are making this way to hard IMO. Just change the control box and cables out and be done with it. Keep your merc box incase you decide to go back.
