While looking into info on Hydrostreams I inadventintly opened a boat crash video, U-Tube. I was shocked at how fast and how easily the boat crashed so I looked at a few more, same thing! I was most shocked when about a 24-26'er, looked like a Banana or Super boat type hull fliped while trying to jump a wake, it looked to be going only about 50 mph, oh it was a white boat if anyone realls the video. Matter of fact it may have flipped sideways? I'll look it up later. Anyway I feel I'll think twice next time out as it looks like factors can sometimes compound where strange accidents happen. Check them out sometime!

Accidents can happen, but some of those videos really look like people that don't know how to drive up on the pad. We drove deep vees on Lake Michigan and you had to steer to keep it upright running up/down shore or you didn't do much fast boating out there. It was not calm that often and you hit every wave on an angle.

The hitting the waves on an angle seemed to srew things up the most. I recall the first time, and only, that I hit a swell at about 70 mph in my checkmate. It seemed to make a quick twist thruout the boat and kicked me out of the seat. It didn't have the kill hooked up, stupid of me, and I landed in the passenger seat. Luckily I was able to keep one hand on the steering wheel. Some of those crashes opened my eyes as I would have necer though the chop looked that bad. I sure as hell need to build up my skill levels and keep within my limits. Snake was right about the fact that the bays around NYC are dangerious, tugs and large boats make swells that go on for miles and the currents make sink holes in the Hudson.

What cashed the crash? I'm thinking he didn't back off the throttle when the boat started to lift up a bit too much?:confused::confused:

I've heard my old Checkmate nearly vertical once but I throttled back enough that the LU worked like an anchor, my, those, older style loopers doesn't free spin when you back them off? You back them off too fast after a WOT run and you can burn a piston I hear?
