seems a little slow,, an SST 45 would crush the speeds they r reporting

Its planned to be a novice class, not a super speed class
sam is that a completly stock 60 no nose cone or anything

No nose cone, stock powerhead. I think it is a special short shaft tower with solid motor mounts - otherwise bone stock.

Wow i like it !!
The SST 45 is a pretty cool class but this will really open up boating to more people if the motor is STOCK standard !!.:D

Too bad it's a team Chop Suey class. It'd be nice if it was open for other motors.

Its not open to other motors so the rules will be and stay simple and clear. One motor eliminates having to work out equalizing weight penalties, etc.
This class is a novice DRIVING class, not a mechanical competition class. The idea is a one stop simple purchase for racing newbies who want a class to learn to drive in before moving up to the faster classes

I totally agree with what you are saying !! Trouble starts when the tweeky bits creep in ,so yes its an ideal first step for new drivers to get a foot in the door !!
Can you shed any light on the boats like what will they be made of (fibreglass i would say) ? , what about minimum weights and measures etc ,Safety gear ,Steering and bouyancy, Power trim etc
i did get some info on this a while back they will be all fiberglass and all from one mold
as i recall
i thought they gave up on it i spoke with someone on the phone about it way back but no one has ever called me back
this is the first i have seen of it in well over a year i bet
