Been posting in the Power Tour thread but dont want to sidetrack it. Just curious if anyone on S&F has any info regarding my Viper. It's a '80 that we bought in Monroe, WI and it still had the Missouri registration on it....MI-5508-A. The boat does appear to be re-gelled at least on top. It had no nav lights, cleats, nothing....execpt a fm attenea on the bow and a gas cap on the bow. Would really like to know what they were thinking with the titanic bow rail???

Does have one mounted to the bottom of jack plate.....ran it on and off and really didnt notice much difference...it does help greatly coming off plane and preventing water from rushing up between the jackplate.

Maybe the bow rail was put there to deflect seagulls?

Maybe...just maybe we could put it on for April 1st and snap some pics of it on the water.....airing it out with "the rail". Maybe mock up some "fake" guns for the sea-gull destroyers!!!!

This thread isn't going the direction I was hoping it would....but at least it offers a comical relief. :D

Seriously, What do you want to know?
History about your specific boat?
or hull itself

Yeah...it would be nice to hear from people who either knew of this boat or even better would be someone who actually owned it...recently or years ago...maybe in Missouri??? To hear what they used it for, what they had rigged, when it got re-gelled....stuff like that.

Jeff for a VIN I got HSP725VPM80A ----so I know made in Jan of '80.
Right now it has a '88 110 X-flow thats stock with the execption of a exhaust snout. Best I've GPS'd at was 59.8 with a DAH 23 SRX. Running a Bob's 8" Jackplate. Really wouldn't mind a few more MPH's :D

The Viper was developed from 1971 - 1972. First year for sale was 73 I believe.
