1984 STV/LTV Setup

Looking for tips and advice from owners with experience on this boat.

This is the pointed nose STV boat. It is not a Laser LTV.
(Not a early pickelfork STV)

I am setting up a 1984 STV/LTV MOD VP Pleasure boat for Lake Racer/Drag toy.

Will be used for after work and weekend therapy.

(I have had many boats from 18ft OB Drag to 30ft+ offshore. Do my own rigging/setup. Rigged, restored & wrecked many. Tunnel & V-Bottoms. Stream, ALLY, STV, Shadow, Eliminator, Apache, Scarab etc.)

Boat is light and solid. Pro glass shop beefed transom. New CMC Hydro/Elec plate that I plan to keep on.

Boat is factory stock. I will run the boat with 2 front bucket seats and rear bench seat.

Will be running a Stock 1984 2.4 MOD VP 20" Carb motor. Merc 1:87 gearcase with Bobs LWP Cone and Ally cut skeg.

Sea Star Pro Steering. Dual Blinker trim for Jack and Trim.

Plan to run the factory Poly gas tank. All fuel & trim pumps mounted just ahead of tank in the rear center of the boat between the stringers and back seat.

Want fast 1/8 mile setup with 90+ top end.
(I assume after 90 I am in blow over territory)

Boat came with a 28 Chopper.

What prop should I run? Chopper? Yamy/Soddy Drag? Cleaver?

Hey Scott. Nice find on the STV. There's probably not many around that know these hulls better than TRex. The STV's have the driver moved forward in the boat a foot so they do tend to run a little flatter. I'm sure he'll be around soon and offer some advice.
