I have a motor on the bench with Wizards in it that I will run soon......Is there something I should know?

Ronnie you running any Wizards call me i got some not so good news from a Racer Bud from up north he is pissed:eek::eek::eek::eek:Yup, but I don't thin the skirt so I should be good  (who the hell thins skirts on an already thinned area???) The 1st few sets were used and already thinned but were used as test slugs for nitrous experimenting :reddevil:
Haven't had a single problem with original "wizard" pistons
Anytime you thin the skirts you don't do the motor any favors, that being said I have installed 14 sets of wizards and am doing 4 more sets in a few weeks and none have issues so far.

I just talked to Ruck yesterday, he asked what pistons I was gonna' use, I told him Wizards and he didn't say anything bad about them.
Now ya' got me nervous after my Pro Marine-Mahle fiasco, there is definitely more meat in the skirts on the wizards than the mahles though

It looks to Me like a secret way to use water injection like a jet engine... :pI pushed my luck on head gaskets with that much nitrous and 200 psi compression :D That set came out of the trash :reddevil: literally, my buddy replaced his Pro Marine gaskets when he read on here they're not a good gasket and I have to disagree.... that used gasket held up to a full year of abuse, 2 sets of heads, and well over 250 lbs of nitrous in 2009.

I knew that nitrous was gonna be potent today when I filled the bottle, it was throwin ice balls in my face when I released pressure from the hose, even told Dave over the phone it was "GOOD NITROUS" and would likely push the rods out... would tell ya what the speed and distance was before she laid down but dont wanna skeer anyone outta comin to the Winter Nats :reddevil:

U reckon its safe to due that? I got 2 holes i gotta fill on the outside of the block, we were goin to strip n weld, unfortunatly i would have to pay for the strip and put back as i dont have the time this year, then we were thinkn bout epoxy, marine tex or kop kote, but you think its safe to weld with engine assembled?
I got pictures of the holes if you want ill pm them over to ya.

Good deal on the skirt coating holding up with the water but what you have really tested for me is the nitrous flame front blowing across the dome before the water started. The coating and the pistons worked!

It's welded, now I gotta assemble and do some testing  It had to come off the boat so I could deck it after the weld

Jay, clean those spots good with acetone and fill with JB Weld. Those look like the divider plate bolt holes that are common on blocks.
I received an email from a known engine builder that insists this repair was a waste of time and will cause even more damage if ran. So let's do this, we'll take a poll and see how many say no and how many say yes.... it's a simple yes or no, not "I dunno, not sure, etc". The ring is touching the weld/repair so it's "bare" aluminum 1/2" wide by 3/8" deep. Supposedly the heat and pressure (not so much the ring) will destroy the weld... True or Not??? If it don't hold I lose a piston (what's one more after 200+ :D) and I cut the sleeve out, weld it back up and install another sleeve (again, what's one more after a few hundred :reddevil:) hell, I might even weld the piston back up, who knows... been told I can't do that too :D
TEXAS20225
