I have a 1994 2.5 200 mercury, an notice the other day went i was starting it the starboard side had a little waterpressure come out off the engine, and overheated quickly, and the port side had the normal waterpressure and was cooling properly, can someone give me advice on what to check for.

You've got a restriction somewhere in the water passages/hoses. Remove the T-stat housings, hoses etc. inspect for debrie then blow through them with low pressure compressed air. If you don't get a good flow you may even want to pop the stb head for a look see.

The restrictor(s) Flabum is refering to (if i'm reading him correctly) could be the fender washer cooling mod alot of us do when removing the T-stats.(not sure that is the case here though). This mod restricts the flow allowing water to be held back building the necessary heat to the heads and block.
