can you convert a 300xs to dts?
if yes what parts need to be installed or replaced?

it's the same system the verado's use. digital shifting and throttle , means no cables but fly by wire.
if seen it on normal opti's but never on a 300xs want to know if you can convert it easily.

I do not think this can be done. The ecm on a 300 does not have the capacity to handle the shift and the throttle. I don't think anyone would even be able to program it for you.....George

but ivé seen it on 225 opti's is there so much difference then?

The problem would be the progamming of the ecm. I don,t know anyone that could do it beside Merc. There would also be any issue with the harness. There was an aftermarket kit that I heard about that someone was making in Florida for Yamahas. Maybe you could use some of their parts and tech if you can find out who made it...

is it realy depending on the ecu, what does the dts module do then.
cos there are loads of them on ebay.

The DTS module is a box usually under the dash that is kind of a ecu for the throttle and shift. There was a recall on them so we had to replace them and recallibrate the new dts modual with the controlls.
I'm not shure about the ecu.
You will also need the actuators .
