hi , i bought new heads for my merc 225 efi 2001 and was wondering if there is a sequence pattern to tighten and what to torque them at. thanks for the help :thumbsup:

Another popular was to torque them is go 25 then 38 Lbs ,with clean lightly oiled bolts ,The 90 deg method scares me .

:iagree: Torquing up in steps will help insure a tight seal and even stress displacement for all bolts. I put em in all hand tight first then throw a small ratchet on it to make sure the head if flushed up. i use virtually no torque just enough to make sure then bolts are in all the way. Then torque em up in 2 stages(dont use a 1/2 torque wrench or you will be running to get a time sert kit like i had too:nonod:) I would be worried about the extra 90 degree turn also.
